Lydia is sprouting like a weed. She skipped 5T and went straight to a 6T. The same happened with her feet. She went from a 9 1/2 to an 11. Almost overnight she's leaping up in sizes! Crazy. We've spent a lot on new clothes for her lately. A lot. So we decided to hit the clearance shoe aisle at Wal-mart for her foot needs. Russell picked her up some 11 tie sneakers and she liked them. (They were purple so it was an easy sell.) These were her first ever tie shoes. We've always had snaps and velcro so her first morning putting them on she asked me to teach her to tie them. I was running late for a meeting so I told her I'd teach her when I picked her up from daycare after work. She pouted a bit, but understood. I tied her shoes for her and off we went. When I picked her up we went on a "girl date" to a local resturant so daddy could have some extra sleep time. He's been doing a lot of overtime and really needed it and I enjoy our girl time. When we were out she showed me her untied shoe and I bent over to tie it--to which she said "No mommy, watch." She then proceeded to tie her own shoe. "Who taught you that?" I scooped her up, impressed and hugged her and kissed her. "I did! I figgert it out all by myself. I'm smart like that!" And all I could do was agree.
A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else.

Very cool idea. I think I will have to try this one. I just love the "It's the Little Things" line. Thanks!
