So Lydia's Huffy Sea Star bike was getting a bit small for her. We've been biking a lot lately as a family...Russell has his
Schwinn Mongoose from Wal-mart and I returned my Meridian and exchanged it for a
Trailmate Desoto Classic so I could have some gears to shift my ride. (We have a lot of hills around where we live and the Meridian was just not cutting it! I'm much happier with my Desoto!) Lydia has recently had a major growth spurt. You can tell if you look at her jeans in these pictures! So she looked like she was performing a circus act with the huge rider pedaling the tiny bike...so we knew it was time to size up from a 12 inch to an 18 incher. She picked the
Avigo Coral Mist. Purple, seafoam green and silver it's a pretty sweet ride. We went out today around the track and Lydia took her first topple. No damage done to her or the bike...but she was pretty scared and cried through mommy's comfort song "Rainbow Connection". She got back on the bike though and did another lap or two before we made our way home. (We do practice bicycle safety though...and these pics are before we left for the track. She does have and a helmet, glasses, and she wears knee pads, elbow pads and gloves.) We'll be keeping the Huffy for awhile in case we find need for it...but the Coral Mist is her "RAD" new ride now!
