Halloween is a big deal at our house. It's absolutely my favourite holiday. Russell and I got married on Halloween. Before our wedding one of my oldest friends David warned me: "You'll never get to celebrate your anniversary once you have children 'cause it will be all about trick or treating." My only response was, how could anything be more fun than trick or treating? I still feel that way? On the 30th we got our first taste of Trick or Treating fun at the Trail of Treats. Moved to the old gym at the university due to rain the trail is usually held in the local park where local buusinesses and organizations gather to hand out treats for youngsters. Lydia went this year with Isolde. Lydia was Mushu from Mulan and Isolde a giraffe. The next night we headed off to the city and went to the mall where Lydia dressed as a genie (or b'genie as she called it.) She picked her own outfit this year. Originally looking for a mermaid costume she saw the genie and quickly changed her mind. She's all about being beautiful and wearing jewlery and sparkles, so the costume appealed to her big time. She got quite a few positive comments and several people asked me where we got the lamp purse. (Amazon online) Most importantly though she had a great time.
