Russell and I hosted the first of our Chinese film series we began and hope to continue with our local FCC. We decided to show the film The Road Home, a beautiful atmospheric film about love at the student center theater. A genuine movie theater, the venue holds over 300 people and has a large screen with a remarkable sound system. We had a good time watching the movie and Lydia was really well behaved. She sat and watched it at first in the theater with me and then later in the booth with her daddy after her diaper change. The real fun though was before the film. We got there early as we weren't sure how long it would take to set up--so it afforded us a lot of family fun time!
We ate lunch before we set up.
After we set up, Daddy and Lydia ran downstairs to wave up to mama (me)!
After a bunch of twirling and falling down. (Lydia loves to make herself dizzy.) Mama and Lydia played "monster".
Before the film started we calmed down by playing with our reflection in the windows of the student center where the theatre I rented is located.

Very cool idea!
A few films that would be great for an FCC group would be:
Not One Less directed (by the same director as The Road Home)
and
The King of Masks Directed by Tian-Ming Wu
and while it's not a film about children, a really fun Chinese move is "Shower" Directed by Yang Zhang.

Finally able to post a comment! Haven't been able to fully load the comment page in a week.
Love the photos from the student center. Before you know it, Lydia will be enrolled as a student at Murray State!
Lis, I still have my poncho that grandma made me too. Lydia looks so grown up in the photos of her wearing the poncho. (It does lend itself for 'twirling and posing' doesn't it?!)
Love you....Laura
